St Thomas House
Thoughtful, considered and kind in everything we do. This is how I understand what it is to be in St Thomas House. Our inspiration is known for his scholarship, and this guides us in how we approach our learning in school, as well as the challenges of growing up and the learning opportunities it presents. We aim to frame every challenge as an opportunity to learn, and so to grow.
I am incredibly proud to be leading St Thomas House. The students, tutors, and house team have made me feel very welcome and I hope to support them in turn to make St Thomas the strongest house community in school. To help them achieve their potential, we obviously promote the highest expectations daily, but also celebrate the students’ achievements in the classroom, sports field, stage and many more. I love hearing about all their interests and celebrating their successes with them, as well as encouraging everyone to develop their own dreams and passions.
I have been in teaching for 11 years and at All Saints for over a year. My specialism is in languages, but I currently support all subjects in my other role as a cover supervisor. Pastoral development has always been important in my practice, whether as a tutor welcoming students in the mornings, promoting and leading trips in the UK and abroad, or more recently supporting the All Saints pastoral team as a House Manager. Like our students, I grew up in Dorset and am passionate about celebrating our local area’s opportunities, as well as those we can enjoy further afield.
St Thomas is incredibly lucky to have Mrs Spray as our House Manager. She works tirelessly to support our students in meeting expectations and achieving their best. She has three children and is a very successful member of the local gig-rowing community, participating in local and national competitions. Thank you from all of St Thomas, Mrs Spray.
Our St Thomas Tutor Team is the best in school, with a huge amount of experience. Our tutors’ teaching specialisms cover core subjects like Maths and English and Science, as well as Art, PE and Languages. One of our tutors even attended All Saints themselves, adding to our house community feel and commitment to giving our students the very best experience from everything on offer at All Saints. Mrs Spray and I thank our tutor team warmly for their daily and ongoing support of our students.
